Rachael Bower
My personal motto is "stay curious" and my art is a reflection of my lifelong pursuit of learning, experimenting, and exploring.
I’m a ceramic artist based in McKinney, TX. My work embodies a subtle, otherworldly aesthetic with a nod to minimalist abstraction. Rounded edges, curves, and spheres follow feng shui principles, ensuring a harmonious energy flow around each piece. Using a mix of construction techniques—wheel throwing, handbuilding, and slip casting—I create pieces with a refined, handmade quality.
My collections feature peacefully soft, matte, monochromatic color stories, balanced with neutral hues and modern touches of black. I craft bespoke glazes from scratch in tiny batches, tailoring each one to its piece for a truly one-of-a-kind appeal. Unconventional surface textures—craters, humps, and grooves—are butter-smooth, offering a surprising invitation to touch and hold.
Inspired by metaphysics and themes like cosmic moonscapes, deep-sea treasure hunting, and mermaid palace vibes, my work exudes a subtle yet rebellious beauty.
